THIBODAUX, LA — The Coastal Technical Assistance Center (CTAC) has launched a new mobile application (app) for Louisiana-based businesses. The app will provide CTAC users with easier access to assistance and information respective to coastal restoration, recovery, and protection projects in Louisiana.
“Partnerships with Louisiana Economic Development (LED) and the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA), along with feedback from our clients, allow us to continuously identify areas for added value within CTAC. The primary request we receive is for CTAC to be a centralized resource center for coastal projects and we have strived to meet those needs through our growing list of services. With the launch of our new mobile app, we’re making information access an integral part of keeping businesses in our state aware of opportunities related to coastal projects, events, and resources. We are now able to provide Louisiana businesses with instant access to all information regarding statewide coastal projects and the ability to connect with other companies, further enhancing the coastal economy,” said Laci Melancon, CTAC Program Director
Those seeking to use the app will be guided through a sign-up process that aligns their needs with the services of CTAC. Users are granted different levels of access depending on their business or organizational needs.
“Water management is a key industry for Louisiana, and coastal protection and restoration work is providing economic opportunities for Louisiana contractors, suppliers and workers,” LED Secretary Don Pierson said. “As CPRA designs coastal projects for execution, we want to ensure that Louisiana-based companies have full access to these project opportunities. This new app provides businesses with the most current information and places it right at their fingertips. CTAC’s app is making it easier for Louisiana companies to engage, compete and capture coastal project awards.”
The new CTAC mobile app will serve as a comprehensive resource for all Louisiana businesses seeking opportunities in the coastal space. CTAC clients have easier and more streamlined access to coastal project and bid information; business counseling; resources; and industry news.
“Since 2007, Louisiana has invested billions of dollars into restoration and protection projects that have benefited thousands of acres of our coastal land,” said CPRA Chairman Chip Kline. “With the creation of the CTAC app, it’s easier than ever for Louisiana-based businesses to connect with these projects.”
“The work we do at CPRA would not be possible without the partnership of Louisiana businesses,” said CPRA Executive Director Bren Haase. “It’s vital we connect coastal restoration and protection efforts to jobs within our state. The launch of the CTAC app will provide a user-friendly resource to do just that.”
The app is available in both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. For more information or to download the app, please visit www.louisianactac.org/app
